Schott WG series glass is a colorless UV absorbing optical glass characterized by different locations of the transmission band edge in the ultraviolet region.  WG series glass is the base glass used for most ionically and colloidally colored Schott filters.

All of the WG series glasses are resistant to staining, and are not inordinately susceptible to acid and alkali attack except WG 225, which stains fairly easily and is very susceptible to attack by acids and moderately susceptible to attack by alkali.
