Newport Thin Film Laboratory manufactures dichroic color filter analogues to plastic color filters used extensively in the entertainment industry.  The advantage to the dichroic color filters is that they do not fade, warp, or otherwise change with time.  So for many applications, their higher initial cost is recouped by the lack of maintenance required for these filters.   NTFL has the ability to manufacture filters that have the same color as most of the thin plastic filters marketed by GAM, Rosco and Lee.  NTFL is a high quality manufacturer, which results in better lot consistency than most of our competitors.   We typically use borosilicate glass for the carrier substrate to ensure high resistance to chemicals and thermal shock.
